BISS’ TERMS AND CONDITIONS – FOR AGENTS AND GROUPS

  1. Authorised BISS Agents benefit from a 15% discount on the basic public rate on all advertised programmes( including accommodation). No discounts are available on supplements or registration fees.
  2. £100.00 per student non-refundable deposit is payable to BISS at the time of confirmation of booking. Please make payment to Brighton International Summer School – see PAYMENT
  3. Free airport transfers (Gatwick Airport only) are available to a minimum group size of 15 full paying members travelling on the same daytime flight ( not night flights) A surcharge of £25 Heathrow/ £35 Stansted airports, return per person, is made for group transfers not using Gatwick airport. Host families will collect/return students and luggage to/from school on arrival/departure day between 08.00 – 22.00 hours. Arrivals/departures outside these times will be charge a private taxi fee of £6.00 per person each way. Arrival/Departure days are strictly Sundays only. Lessons commence on Mondays.
  4. Our courses are not suitable for adults or pupils over the age of 18, except those who are accompanying the group and are acting in a supervisory capacity. We do not make separate arrangements for such adults.
  5. One free place for every 15 full paying members is availability for bona fide party leaders only, who are acting in a supervisory capacity.
  6. Party leaders will be expected to ensure all their students are aware of and agree to comply with the BISS ‘code of Conduct’. Party leaders will be expected to assist BISS in enforcing the ‘Code of Conduct’ and general matters of discipline, to work in partnership with BISS in ensuring all students are happy and satisfied with services provided, to mediate in the event of any disputes and be available on a daily basis for meetings with the BISS Director as required. BISS will undertake all such duties for any student not represented by a group leader.
  7. Parents/Guardians of students under the age of 18 consent to their child being taken out of school for activities, visits and excursions and to be transported by either public transport, school mini-bus, private staff cars or taxis, Consent is also given for BISS staff acting on their behalf in cases of emergency.
  8. BISS is not responsible for any events or incidents that happen outside its direct control, including but not limited to when the student is on free time, with their host family or in the residential accommodation at Sussex University, travelling to and from school/home/activities. Leaders of groups staying at the Sussex University residence are wholly responsible for supervising their own group.
  9. BISS arranges accommodation with local host families on behalf of each students where requested. Fees paid to BISS are passed on to the family on the student’s behalf. BISS cannot be held responibel for any dispute arising between any student and their host family. Families can only be changed in exceptional circumstances ( at BISS discretion) after a seven day period, or unless agreed by all parties.
  10. BISS reservs the right to immediately terminate or cancel any students course where the students behaviour is deemed to be inappropriate or unruly, or our ‘Code of Conduct’ breached. From that point on, our responsibilities will cease and we cannot be held responsible for any extra costs incurred by the individual(s) in question.
  11. BISS cannot be held responsible nor make any refunds, nor pay any compensation if any element of the course as booked by or on behalf of the student is not supplied, or not supplied promptly and efficiently following any circumstances beyond our control, including bu not limited to those instances above or those amounting to Force Majeure.
  12. Clients most have adequate personal insurance to cover cancellation, personal /public loss/damage, injury and medical emergencies. BISS accepts no responsibility for such items.
